In a unexpected collaboration that breaks traditional forecasts, Ubisoft has revealed an in-game partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the acclaimed anime series Attack on Titan. The surprising Thanksgiving event continues from November 25 through December 22, offering complimentary bonus story content for Shadows players.

Strange Adventure Uncovered

According to the official statement, "An unusual confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a fresh adventure, where hints of forbidden ceremonies and terrifying metamorphoses reverberate through the darkness." The storyline introduces a "strangely dressed woman named Ada" who assigns the characters with journeying into the Crystal Cave—a key location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her companion from a secret cult.

The adventure concentrates on "bizarre tests and a terrifying foe" and is accessible to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Iconic Settings and Metamorphoses

The trailer showcases the Subterranean Sanctuary from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This historic location was previously where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through generations. The preview ends with a striking scene showing a character, likely the prisoner, morphing into a Titan that towers over Naoe and Yasuke.

Exclusive Rewards and Extra Material

Players who successfully complete the mission will obtain an unique katana alongside multiple items hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also features premium Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

• Mikasa outfit for Naoe
• Special implements
• Survey Corps mount

Third Free Story Addition

This release also adds the game's latest free story addition, titled "The Enigma." This playful mission teams Naoe and Yasuke as they swap distinctive skills: Naoe introduces a performative interpretation of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke masters subduing stealth takedowns. True to its name, "The Mystery" also features a original environmental puzzle that may eventually clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This signifies not the first time the Assassin's Creed franchise has partnered with famous anime properties. The series earlier showcased a 2020 cross-promotional story connecting Assassin's Creed: Valhalla with Makoto Yukimura's Vinland Saga.
