Football Analyst Sutton Takes On Singer Murs in Premier League Forecasts
The Gunners' ten-match winning streak was ended by Sunderland prior to the international break, however will the Premier League leaders bounce back against north London rivals Spurs this Sunday?
"{I believe like Arsenal are light years ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs boss Thomas Frank will have a plan for this game," stated football specialist Chris Sutton.
"Frank will try to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still manage to win."
The analyst is forecasting results for all 380 Premier League fixtures this term, against artificial intelligence, fans and a range of special visitors.
In the twelfth round, he takes on singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United fan.
Murs' new album, the new release, is out on the weekend.
Football and Family Life
Olly is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several charity football matches over time - but he is not intending a professional comeback as a player.
"{I actually played in a charity match the other night for a friend of mine," he said. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I came off in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can read into that what you want!
"I still love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still hasn't fully recovered. I hope I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.
"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the time that my child or boy decides to play instead."
Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to emulate his dad by becoming their manager.
"I won't force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will likely be coaching their weekend football team," he said.
"I observed my nephews play a lot, and I truly got into it, and I obviously owned a football club for a period too.
"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He coached our team for two or three years and had a wonderful time with it. That might be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"
Top Division Forecasts
Weekend, 22 November
- Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT
Chelsea may have to be patient for their star's return from injury but their attack is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Delap both returned to fitness.
I still think this game will be quite close, though. The Clarets are disciplined and their only home defeats so far have been against the Reds and the Gunners.
It smells of a one-all tie to me, but I am in fact going to go with the London side to win narrowly for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.
Sutton's prediction: 1-2
Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3
AI's prediction: 0-2
- Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT
The Cherries have been defeated in their past two games - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which shocked me.
In contrast, the Hammers secured back-to-back victories before the international break and, although both of those games were at their stadium, they appear strong again.
West Ham's only away win this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when their manager Nuno was still Forest manager.
So, what on earth do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth responding?
I am going to go with Bournemouth, because I believe what occurred against Aston Villa was a anomaly.
The pundit's prediction: 2-0
The guest's prediction: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have picked up under their boss. 2-2
The algorithm's pick: 1-1
- Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT
Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several people under their manager and are in good form with three wins in their past four games.
My son advised me to get Bees striker Igor Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I didn't listen.
The forward will probably score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to pick him or back Brentford at Amex Stadium.
The Bees have not had great fortune on the travel this season, and Brighton are consistently strong at their stadium. Brentford will try to hit them on the break but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's side pose much more of a danger.
The analyst's prediction: 2-1
The singer's prediction: It could be one of those games where you expect there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be rather tight. 1-1
The computer's outcome: 2-1
- Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT
It is a massive fixture for the Cottagers, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six matches.
They have have plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be sucked into a relegation battle.
Regarding the Black Cats, indeed they are the surprise package of the Premier League season so far.
Their performance in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was superb. We have not witnessed any other team disrupt the North London side like that this term, and they were more than a match for them.
The logical choice would be to support the visitors here, because they are obviously able of roughing Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in this part of London, they defeated the Blues at the close of last month.
But I am not going to do that. Rather, I truly need to continue opposing the away team with my predictions. I am claiming a lot of responsibility for their positive results because they evidently enjoy to prove me wrong.
Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage form, the only side they have been defeated by is Arsenal. Their manager's team will be absolutely desperate for a good outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.
The expert's forecast: 1-0
Olly's prediction: I know Sunderland are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this campaign. 2-0
The algorithm's outlook: 2-0
- Anfield, 15:00 GMT
It is a hard one to predict. The Reds have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who benefit from the {international break|
