The Gory Animated Movie Conclusion That Lingers Fans
Out of all the mature animated films I’ve ever watched, nothing has lingered in my mind quite like the fear-filled finale of the graphically gory as well as overwhelingly transgressive film from 2022 Unicorn Wars.
Back in 2015’s, this Spain-based filmmaker developed a grim, bleak and frequently brutal world that included several minor , forlorn hints of hope.
Although The Unicorn Wars seems like it stemmed from a desire to push the medium further, the filmmaker explained that it was more an attempt to convey a global, multicultural theme about “the common origin of all wars.”

For one particularly cruel, skeptical animal, the character Bluey, the war against unicorns becomes a path to control — and especially to dominance over his softer, kinder brother the bear Tubby.
The character is a bully and an obvious antisocial figure , and while terror overcomes his unit and claims his fellow soldiers sequentially, he seizes more and more power on his own behalf, through ever more violent, destructive ways.
At the same time, the horned creatures are enduring their own nightmare, through an expanding, deadly beast in their habitat.
“At the beginning, it feels like a lighthearted film,” the director said. “But then it turns into a more intense and sad movie. And ultimately, it becomes a scary feature.”
The Unicorn Wars starts out resembling among the whimsical features from a legendary animator, that uncover a mischievous joy in letting drawn beings curse, shoot each other, or engage sexually.
Then it evolves into something more like a more grim movie by that same artist, featuring progressively graphic violence , a palpable connection to the actual tragedy of battle.
In the finale, it’s a complete extreme drama massacre.
The horror which makes this a perfect Halloween watch begins much sooner than one might expect.
Unicorn Wars is one for the hardcore gorehounds, for fans of intense movies who want to see a film they have not watched previously, and who can handle a narrative that offers unflinching brutality.
