Note: Spoilers for Episode 3 of Campaign 4 follow below.
The Warrior Group Unveiled
Episode 3 finished on a major cliffhanger and introduced the initial group of characters who will separate from the primary party to embark on their own adventure, distinct from the other two tables.
This warrior group features the determined fighter (brought to life by the voice actor), the nimble rogue (Laura), the strong-willed figure (Whitney Moore), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Considering 13 cast members, it was obvious from the start that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
Hence, the opening chapters of this story serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Schemers, and Explorers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the Soldiers table is for adventurers who prefer a typically action-packed battle-oriented gameplay experience where non-violent answers are scarce.
Upon first impression, characters like the reluctant priest Wicander might seem out of place, but the events of episode 3 show why these five characters are ideally matched for the warrior group.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the group knows exactly where to go next after a intense initial meeting with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death initiated the narrative’s action—exploited The Crow Keepers for his own means, breaking into the secret base, attacking the character, and stealing all the magical artifacts to auction.
The traitor then settled his obligations and fled to a secure base in the northern region, beyond the urban center, with Teor’s brother hot on his heels.
Individual Reasons
Moreover, each character has a personal reason to exit Dol-Makjar:
- Thimble, as the close ally and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The knowledgeable figure has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- Tyranny and Wicander, having resisted his family’s wishes to eliminate the target and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as important members in House Halovar could enable the group reach areas they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his rescue and will now go with him everywhere.
Pursued by Authorities
In addition, all of them are hunted by the authorities that rule the city for a range of causes, making lingering locally no longer safe:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- Tyranny and The healer turned against the influential house and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- Teor is targeted for elimination by the family.
This means them little choice but to travel to the northern region in quest for Casimir.
Upcoming Developments
According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we discover that the Soldiers table won’t be around the following episode, leaving the rest of the players to form the Questers and Schemers tables.
Audiences can look forward to discovering which adventurers will be where in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, available to watch on October 24.
